  4. Features of Sql Server 2005:
SQL Server 2005 has reduced application downtime, increased scalability and performance, and tight yet flexible security controls. SQL Server 2005 makes it simpler and easier to deploy, manage, and optimize enterprise data and analytical applications. It enables you to monitor, manage, and tune all of the databases in the effective way. Failure of the primary system, applications can immediately reconnect to the database on the secondary server using Database Mirroring. SQL Server 2005 provides a new capability for the partitioning of tables across file groups in a database. Has Features of XML, Multidimensional Expressions (MDX), and XML for Analysis (XMLA). Integration with the Visual Studio development environment provides more efficient development and debugging of line-of-business and business intelligence (BI) applications SQL Server 2005 provides a lot of benefits over SQL Server 2000 including within the replication feature set.

  5. K-Modes Algorithm

There are some issues pertinent to most of the existing feature clustering methods. First, the parameter k, indicating the desired number of extracted features, has to be specified in advance. This gives a burden to the user, since trial-and-error has to be done until the appropriate number of extracted features is found. Second, when calculating similarities, the variance of the underlying cluster is not considered. Intuitively, the distribution of the data in a cluster is an important factor in the calculation of similarity. Third, all words in a cluster have the same degree of
contribution to the resulting extracted feature. Sometimes, it may be better if more similar words are allowed to have bigger degrees of contribution. Our feature clustering algorithm is proposed to deal with these issues. Suppose, we are given a document set D of n documents d1, d2; . . . ; dn, together with the feature vector W of m words w1; w2; . . . ; wm and p classes c1, c2; . . . ; cp, as specified in Section 2. We construct one word pattern for each word inW. For word wi, its word pattern xi is defined, similarly as in [27],
    by xi ¼
    ¼ ; ð7Þ
    where
    PðcjjwiÞ ¼ Pn
    q¼1 dqi _ _qj
    Pn
for 1 _ j _ p. Note that dqi indicates the number of
occurrences of wi in document d.
    qj = 1; if document dq belongs to class cj;
    0; otherwise:
Therefore, we have m word patterns in total. For example, supposewehave four documents d1,d2,d3, and d4 belonging to c1, c1, c2, and c2, respectively. Let the occurrences of w1 in these documents be 1, 2, 3, and 4, respectively. Then, the word pattern x1 of w1 is:

It is these word patterns, our clustering algorithm will work on. Our goal is to group the words inWinto clusters, based on these word patterns. A cluster contains a certain number of word patterns, and is characterized by the product of p one-dimensional Gaussian functions. Gaussian functions are adopted because of their superiority over other functions in performance.
    Let G be a cluster
    containing q word patterns x1, x2; . . . ; xq. Let xj ¼ , 1 _ j _ q. Then the mean m ¼ and the deviation _ ¼ <_1; _2; . . . ; _p> of G are
    defined as
    mi ¼ Pq
    j¼1 xji
    for 1 _ i _ p, where jGj denotes the size of G, i.e., the
number of word patterns contained in G. The fuzzy
similarity of a word pattern x ¼ to cluster
G is defined by the following membership function:
    _GðxÞ ¼Y
    p
    i¼1
    exp _
    xi _ mi
A word pattern close to the mean of a cluster is regarded to be very similar to this cluster, i.e., _GðxÞ _ 1. On the contrary, a word pattern far distant from a cluster is hardly similar to this cluster, i.e., _GðxÞ _ 0. For example, suppose G1 is an existing cluster with a mean vector m1 ¼< 0:4; 0:6 > and a deviation vector _1 ¼ <0:2;0:3>. The fuzzy similarity of the word pattern x1 shown in s to cluster G1 becomes 0.6969

  11. Features in ASP.NET 2005
    • Productivity. You can easily and quickly create ASP.NET Web pages and applications using new ASP.NET server controls and existing controls with new features. New areas such as membership, personalization, and themes provide system-level functionality that would normally require extensive developer coding. Core development scenarios, particularly data, have been addressed by new data controls, no-code binding, and smart data-display controls.
    • Flexibility and extensibility. Many ASP.NET features are extensible so that you can easily incorporate custom features into applications. The ASP.NET provider model, for example, provides pluggable support for different data sources.
    • Performance. Features such as pre-compilation, configurable caching, and SQL cache invalidation allow you to optimize the performance of your Web applications.
    • Security. It is now easier than ever to add authentication and authorization to your Web applications.
    • Hosting. ASP.NET includes new features that make it easier to manage a hosting environment and create more opportunities for hosters to add value.
    • Completeness. New and existing features work in concert to allow you to create end-to-end scenarios that address real-world Web development challenges.

    SOFTWARE PROFILE

    What is the .NET Framework?
The .NET Framework defines an environment that supports the development and execution of highly distributed, component-based applications. It enables differing computer languages to work together and provides for security, program portability, and a common programming model for the Windows platform. As it relates to C#, the .NET Framework defines two very important entities. The first is the Common Language Runtime (CLR). This is the system that manages the execution of your program. Along with other benefits, the Common Language Runtime is the part of the .NET Framework that enables programs to be portable, supports mixed-language programming, and provides for security.

    ReplyDelete
  19. The second entity is the .NET Framework class library. This library gives your program access to the runtime environment. For example, if you want to perform I/O, such as displaying something on the screen, you will use the .NET library to do it. If you are new to programming, then the term class may be new. Although it is explained in detail later in this book, for now a brief definition will suffice: a class is an object-oriented construct that helps organize programs. As long as your program restricts itself to the features defined by the .NET Framework class library, your programs can run anywhere that the .NET runtime system is supported. Since C# automatically uses the .NET Framework class library, C# programs are automatically portable to all .NET environments.

  20. The goal of the Microsoft .NET platform is to simplify web development. The .Net Framework provides the foundation upon which application and XML web services are build and executed the unified Nature of the .Net Framework means that all applications, whether they are windows applications, web applications are XML web services are developer by using a common set tools and code, and are easily integrated with one another.

  21. ASP.NET 2.0
An Internet application is any application that uses the Internet in any way. That means applications that request that users register over the Internet or that provide Help through the Internet are, to some degree, Internet applications.
That definition is too broad for the subject of a single book. To narrow the focus a bit, let’s identify four types of Internet applications:
    • Web applications
These applications provide content from a server to client machines over the Internet. Users view the Web application through a Web browser.
    • Web services
These components provide processing services from a server to other applications over the Internet.
    • Internet-enabled applications
These are stand-alone applications that incorporate aspects of the Internet to provide online registration, Help, updates, or other services to the user over the Internet.
    • Peer-to-peer applications
These are stand-alone applications that use the Internet to communicate with other users running their own instances of the application.
